Despite the cold weather, members of the Brown Deer Foundation, the Pond Committee, Village Staff and Donors attended the ground breaking ceremony for the new pond bath house on September 19th.

(From L to R) Village Manager Russ Van Gompel, Steve Strozk of Metavante, Brown Deer Foundation President Joe Klucarich, and Village President Margaret Jaberg officially break ground on the new pond bath house.  The new building is to be open in time for the 2007 pond season.

The design and color scheme of the new bath house is intended to coincide with the storage building that is located on the Southwest corner of the pond site.  The octagon-shaped building will have a dark grey seamless metal roof, natural color split-face block and white cement board siding.   After the building plans were reviewed and approved by the State of Wisconsin, the construction of the new building began in early December of 2006.
