1)      Survey Update

B. Grant reported that approximately 850 surveys (approximately 15% of 5800 or 17% of households) have now been received and are being processed.  The age and race of respondents has broadened a bit, although the demographics are still weighted toward the group over 60 years old.  Concern was expressed about increasing the number of returns.  Buckley confirmed that Trustee Schilz carried a sign promoting the return of surveys and the extended timeline at the July 4th parade.  Pederson thought that another newspaper article would be published this week.

Based on those surveys she has recently entered, Grant advised the group that the three priority issues that had emerged from the committee, focus groups, and workshop did not seem to be changing: maintaining private properties, filling empty commercial properties, and keeping village services high but cost-effective.

2)      Review of Draft Final Report Sections

Members were asked to review the process overview and demographic information and comparison sections of the Draft Final Report and comment directly to B. Grant by e-mail or phone before the next meeting.  They were reminded that they had received the Table of Contents and Workshop and Focus Group sections at the last meeting and any comments would be welcome.

3)      Develop Preliminary Vision Statement and Plan Elements

After discussion of model vision and mission statements, committee members added terms to the list generated at the last meeting.  Terms and concepts were then grouped for the purpose of forming a series of simple vision statements with descriptive elements, similar to the Toronto model.
