CRIME ALERT NOTICE UPDATE


On Monday, April 19, 2010, an 18-year-old man was in custody and charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with several felony counts related to the apartment break-in and sexual assault which occurred April 5th in the 7800 block of North 64th Court in the City of Milwaukee. The same man was also charged with another attempted sexual assault that occurred January 15th in the 6200 block of West Port Avenue in the City of Milwaukee.

CRIME ALERT NOTICE


The Brown Deer Police Department is notifying all residents in this neighborhood about a sexual assault that occurred in the CITY OF MILWAUKEE near N. 64th Street and W. Bradley Road on April 5, 2010 during the early morning hours. The suspect entered an apartment through a window after removing a screen. The suspect was armed with a knife and sexually assaulted a woman.

The Milwaukee Police Department believes the same suspect tried to sexually assault another woman in her home near the intersection of W. Port Avenue and W. Calumet Road in January. During this incident the suspect entered the home through a patio door. This same suspect may have also been involved in a burglary that occurred in the CITY OF MILWAUKEE near N. 64th Street and W. Bradley Road in September 2009.

The suspect has been described as follows:

  • Black male, 16-30 years old
  • 5 Feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, Slim or medium build
  • Was last seen wearing all black clothing, a black hooded sweatshirt with a white design on the back and the hood over his head, a white mask or cloth over his face, and was wearing white gloves
All residents are reminded to:

  • Report any suspicious activity immediately to the police by calling 911 or the Brown Deer Police Department at 371-2900
  • Suspicious activity can include things such as solicitors who do not have Village issued permits, people ringing doorbells or knocking on doors to see if someone is at home, people throwing rocks or other things at the house, people walking through yards for no particular reason, people looking into windows or cars.
  • Make sure all doors and windows are secured and locked.
  • If windows are kept open for ventilation, restrict the movement of the window to prevent the window from being fully opened.
  • Keep exterior and motion sensing lights on at night.
  • Notify neighbors and the Brown Deer Police Department if going on vacation.
