Between the Covers

For the fourth summer, with the sponsorship of the "Friends of the Brown Deer Library", the library will be offering a Summer Reading Program for Adults (age 18+). Each year this program has grown in popularity. The statewide theme for 2012 is "Between the Covers."

The program is very simple. Check out either books or unabridged audiobooks from the Brown Deer Library. Once you have finished reading or listening to them, fill out one bookmark for each item and drop the completed bookmark in the incentive box for the prize you would most like to win. You may enter as many times as you read or listen to different titles. The information you need to complete the bookmark is your name, phone number (so we can contact winners!), the author and title of the book/audiobook, and a few sentences telling about the book/audiobook as if you were recommending it to a friend. You must complete the entire bookmark to be eligible for winning.

The incentives you could possibly win are a $50 Pick 'N Save card; a $50 Kohl's Department Store card; $25 cards for North Shore Cinema, Larry's Market, Panera's, Applebee's, Menards and a BP Gas Card.

New this year, the first 100 reader/listeners who show 5 completed bookmarks to the librarians at the Reference Desk, (before they drop them in the incentive boxes!) will get a coupon for one free book at the Annual Friends of the Library Book Sale to be held on August 24th & 25h, 2012. Along with the coupon they will receive a new "Between the Covers" book bag.

The Adult Summer Library Program runs between June 1st - September 7th. The drawing for the prizes will be in mid-September and all winners will be notified by phone. Come join the fun this summer. Chances are you read anyway, why not be rewarded for it? At the Brown Deer Library, the kids are not the only ones to have fun!
