The Brown Deer Water Utility has filed an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to increase water rates. A person may testify and comment on in proceeding by following the directions here.


May 22, 2020

The Brown Deer Water Utility is warning people about the danger of stagnant water in buildings that have been closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Water in plumbing that has been sitting stagnant for weeks could be a breeding ground for bacteria and potential pathogens. As some businesses and buildings are starting to reopen, it’s crucial that people pay attention to their plumbing and make sure the water is safe. March 23, 2020

On March 22, 2020, Governor Evers issued Emergency Order #11. This order temporarily suspends certain provisions of administrative code relating to service rules for electric, gas, and public water utilities. Impacts to the Brown Deer Public Utilities are as follows:

      • The Utility will waive late fees for the duration of the emergency
      • Ensure deferred payment agreements are available not only to residential customers but also commercial, multi-family, and industrial customers

If you have signed up for ACH payments and would like to discontinue, please complete the Discontinue ACH Form and email it back to waterclerk@browndeerwi.org.

Recently residents of Brown Deer were mailed a water lateral insurance letter. The Brown Deer Water Utility is not affiliated with this company and does not endorse these types of requests. These letters may be mailed out quarterly.
