WISCONSIN LAW ENFORCEMENT ACCREDITATION GROUP
The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG) was the initiative of the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association (WCPA). The First Edition Standards were approved by the WCPA Accreditation Committee on June 2, 1995; and the Second Edition Standards were officially approved by the WILEAG Governing Board on December 3, 1996.
The goal of WILEAG is to provide a high quality, affordable alternative to national accreditation. The program is tailored to meet the needs and capacities of Wisconsin agencies.
Law enforcement accreditation provides the basis for an enhanced sense of professionalism and pride, the security in knowing that agencies are well-managed, and the assurance that enforcement operations and personnel are consistent and well-directed.
In order to receive accreditation, an agency’s operations must be independently reviewed and evaluated.
WILEAG has awarded the Brown Deer Police Department with a certificate of re-accreditation effective from June 26th, 2015.
